Ryan Gosling in talks for Wolfman reboot?

Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks to play the lead in a new version of horror movie The Wolfman.

La La Land star Ryan Gosling is reportedly being lined up to take the lead in a remake of horror movie The Wolfman.

The film - first released in 1941 before being unsuccessfully rebooted with Benicio del Toro in 2010 - follows a man who is bitten by a werewolf, subsequently turning into one himself.

According to Variety, Universal is in talks with Gosling over playing the titular character and is also holding meetings with potential directors, including Bad Education's Cory Finley.

The publication says that the new version will be in the same vein as Nightcrawler, the acclaimed 2014 movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a stringer who films the aftermath of criminal activities and horrific accidents for a local news channel.

Gosling has already signed up to film a new astronaut movie once the coronavirus lockdown is over, suggesting that The Wolfman might not be shot until 2021.
