The Wanted release an emotional statement following the tragic death of band member Tom Parker at the age of 33.

The Wanted have released an emotional statement following the death of band member Tom Parker earlier today.

The singer died at the age of 33 following a battle with an incurable brain tumour, just days after he completed a UK reunion tour with his bandmates.

Shortly after the news of his death broke, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness posted a joint statement on social media.

They wrote: "Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.

"Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi.

"He was our brother, words can't express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.
