Korean boyband BTS have announced that they are to go on a break but have insisted that they will reunite in future.
The seven-piece global phenomenon debuted in 2013 and have since become the best-selling artist in Korean history, also winning nine American Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards.
Speaking at the group's annual dinner on Tuesday, band member J-Hope said: "We should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again.
"I hope you don't see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan.
"BTS will become stronger that way."
A spokesperson for the group later said: "To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats."
The news comes just four days after the septet released their first anthology album, Proof.
