Bowen Yang promises an "astronomical" conclusion to the upcoming sequel Wicked: For Good.

Wicked star Bowen Yang has promised that the ending of the upcoming sequel Wicked: For Good will be the highlight of the saga.

The first movie - released last Christmas - has been a bona fide box office hit, grossing over $750m (£560m) worldwide, five times its budget.

That film concluded with 'Defying Gravity', which sees Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) accept her destiny and bid goodbye to Glinda (Ariana Grande) in a bid to defeat The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).

SNL regular Yang, who plays Glinda's school friend Pfannee, told People: "The same way that everybody expected 'Defying Gravity' to be this big moment, but to such a degree that everyone was like, 'Well, how can it outdo these expectations?' - and then it did.

"I feel like it's going to be that same situation with the song 'For Good'. It's just like, you're going to see it coming and then when it happens, you're going to be like, 'I can't believe what I'm watching.' It's going to subvert the already astronomical expectations."

Wicked: For Good is due for release on November 21.
