Matt Lapinskas joins the cast of Hollyoaks playing a mystery new villainous role.

Matt Lapinskas has joined the cast of Hollyoaks playing a mystery new villainous character.

The 33-year-old is best known for his previous stint on EastEnders from 2011 to 2012 as Anthony Moon, a relative of Shane Richie's Alfie Moon.

Paparazzi pictures published in the Daily Star show Lapinskas filming on the beach in Mallorca wearing tiny white swim shorts.

Further details about his character are unknown, but it is expected that he will make his debut as part of the special episodes currently being filmed on the Spanish island for Luke's (Gary Lucy) stag do.

Talking to the newspaper about his part, Lapinskas said: "I love the scripts. I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into it.

"I'll be causing some trouble - the storyline is very intense."

After leaving EastEnders, Lapinskas appeared as a contestant on Dancing On Ice and has also had multiple stage roles.
