Chris Charles joins the cast of Hollyoaks playing a new market stall holder called Nate Denby.

Chris Charles has joined the cast of Hollyoaks playing a new market stall holder called Nate Denby.

The character arrives in the village next month and becomes a new roommate for Grace and Ripley, quickly forming a close friendship with Ripley while developing a crush on Grace.

"I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to be joining such a legendary show and staple in British television!" said Charles, who has made appearances on EastEnders and Doctors in the past.

"Words can't describe how blessed I feel or the level of excitement I have to get started and bring Nate to the village for all of our amazing audience. Let the drama begin!"

Nate's first appearance will come during E4's first-look episode on Monday, September 6.
