Charlie Clapham reportedly leaves his role as Freddie Roscoe on Hollyoaks for a second time.

Charlie Clapham has reportedly filmed his exit scenes on Hollyoaks, just over a year since his character Freddie Roscoe made a surprise comeback to the village.

First appearing in 2013, Freddie's original time in Hollyoaks was eventful - including murder, an affair with his brother's fiancée and relationships with a mother and daughter - but in 2017 he decided to drive off for a new life elsewhere.

Last Spring Freddie returned to the village with fiancée - and now his wife - Grace Black (Tamara Wall) but is now plotting to take her down, unaware that she has his brother Robbie (Charlie Wernham) chained up in a basement.

A source told The Sun: "Charlie has finished his stint filming.

"He's hugely popular and everyone's really sad to see him go but the storyline is great and it was all planned out before his return.

"There's going to be a big send-off for Freddie as the soap ramps up for a huge summer leading to the 30th later this year."

Hollyoaks continues Mondays to Wednesdays from 7am on Channel 4 streaming and at 7pm on E4.
