Noel Fielding is confirmed to return as co-host of The Great British Bake Off.

Noel Fielding will return as co-host of The Great British Bake Off this year despite concerns that he may not be well enough, it has been confirmed.

In January the 51-year-old pulled out of Apple TV+ comedy The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin halfway through filming the second season, effectively cancelling the show as he played the lead character.

A spokesperson for the star described Fielding's withdrawal as a "private and confidential matter" relating to his health but declined to elaborate further.

Fielding was absent from last week's press launch for The Celebrity Great British Bake Off, sparking speculation that he may pull out of this year's main series, which begins filming next month.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told The Mirror, however: "We had never claimed that Noel would not present Bake Off. He will indeed be part of the team."

The Celebrity Great British Bake Off begins tonight at 7.40pm on Channel 4.
