James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley among lineup for Celeb Bake Off

Channel 4 confirms the names of the 20 celebrities taking part in this year's edition of The Great Celebrity Bake Off.

Big-screen actors James McAvoy and Daisy Ridley are among the 20 celebrities taking part in this year's edition of The Great Celebrity Bake Off in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

Each episode of the new five-part series will see four different famous faces compete to be named that week's star baker, as judged by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

Matt Lucas will take on sole hosting duties for this run of the show as regular co-host Noel Fielding spends time with his newborn daughter.

The lineup includes TV presenting legend Anneka Rice, Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall, presenter Stacey Dooley, author Philippa Perry, radio DJ Nick Grimshaw, Paralympian Ade Adepitan and Dame Kelly Holmes.

Comedians taking part include Rob Beckett, Tom Allen, Katherine Ryan, David Baddiel, Reece Shearsmith and John Bishop, while Alexandra Burke, Nadine Coyle, KSI, Dizzee Rascal and Anne-Marie are among those representing the world of music.

"What we all need right now is more joy," said Sarah Lazenby, head of formats and features at Channel 4. "Bake Off is serving up yet another dollop of fun courtesy of some very willing celebrities.

"We can't promise a huge helping of baking inspiration, but we can deliver some much-needed laughs."

A start date for the new series has yet to be confirmed, although past series have all launched in the first week or two of March.
