Adil Ray confirms that he will be hosting Good Morning Britain for the next four weeks.

Adil Ray has confirmed that he will be hosting Good Morning Britain for the rest of this month.

The breakfast show is currently one presenter down after Piers Morgan dramatically quit in March following a furore over his fierce reaction to Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Since then Susanna Reid has been joined by a number of different co-hosts including Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh, although she is now on a break until after the Easter holidays.

Ray, who has appeared on the show multiple times in the past as a stand-in host, revealed on Twitter that he will fill Morgan's usual Monday to Wednesday hours for the next four weeks starting tomorrow.

"Some news for you....I will be co hosting @gmb throughout the whole of April Mon to Weds, starting this Monday with @kategarraway and with @susannareid100 after the hols," he wrote.

"I would love for you to make it your daily wake up if you fancy it! #goodmorningbritain."

ITV is expected to wait until the autumn before naming a permanent replacement for Morgan.
