Dame Joanna Lumley will join Celebrity Gogglebox for the next series as the new partner for Gyles Brandreth.

Comedy icon Dame Joanna Lumley will take part in the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox, it has been revealed.

The 76-year-old has been enlisted as the new partner for Gyles Brandreth, who has previously been paired up with Dame Sheila Hancock and Dame Maureen Lipman.

Absolutely Fabulous star Lumley is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "It is a huge honour and crosses something off my long bucket list."

Brandreth added: "The last time we watched the box together she fell asleep. I'm hoping that doesn't happen for Gogglebox."

The new series of Celebrity Gogglebox begins on Friday, June 10 on Channel 4.
