Where can I watch Home Alone this Christmas?

Details of how you can watch Home Alone and its sequels on TV this Christmas period.

Watching Home Alone over the festive period has become an absolute must in the modern age - after all, what could be more Christmassy than watching two middle-aged men attempting to kill an eight-year-old boy?

2020 has truly been a year to forget and sadly we must report one more little nasty surprise: Home Alone is not being shown on any of the usual TV channels this year.

All is not lost, however - the movie is available for streaming through Disney+, which costs £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year (sadly, Disney stopped offering free seven-day trials earlier this year).

Alternatively, Amazon Prime Video (now available through Sky Q!) offers it for rent for £1.99 for a 48-hour window - or it's on the Sky Store for £2.99 to rent and £5.99 to buy and keep.

The good news, meanwhile, is that the sequel film - Home Alone 2: Lost In New York - will be airing on Channel 4 on Christmas Day from 5.30pm (Irish viewers can tune in to the film on RTE One on Christmas Day at 3.25pm). The movie is basically the same as the original but set on the mean streets of the Big Apple instead, complete with added Donald Trump.

A number of Home Alone sequels without Macaulay Culkin were sadly produced and these will also be shown multiple times over the Christmas holidays.

Home Alone 3 is being served up by Channel 4 at 2.55pm on December 26, while Home Alone 4 and 2012's Home Alone: The Holiday Heist are being shown regularly on Sky Cinema over the next fortnight.
