Kyle Alessandro has won Melodi Grand Prix and will represent Norway at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
The 18-year-old, who is half-Spanish, first came into the public eye at the age of just 10 when he featured on Norske Talenter, the local equivalent of Britain's Got Talent.
Alessandro had a previous attempt at Melodi Grand Prix, albeit two years ago as part of a band, but this year he was triumphant as a solo artist with his original song 'Lighter'.
Voting in the nine-strong contest was weighted at 40% for the professional jury and 60% the public, with Alessandro triumphing on both counts by a comfortable margin to secure his place in Basel in May.
Posting on Instagram afterwards, Alessandro wrote: "I can't believe this is happening – thank you so, so, SOOOO much for voting and making my dream come true!"
