Former The Voice star Sheldon Riley has been chosen to represent Australia at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
The 22-year-old, who is known for his "dark pop" style and flamboyant fashion sense, triumphed in national selection contest Australia Decides on Saturday.
Riley beat off 10 other competitors, including The X Factor UK's Seann Miley Moore, with his song 'Not The Same', which garnered a combined 100 points from the jury and televote.
"I'm speechless, this is everything I have worked for and dreamed of since I can remember," he said afterwards. "I am so incredibly honoured to represent Australia on the biggest stage in the world.
"I'm always unapologetically myself but to be in this space where everyone's celebrating my difference, it's incredible."
Riley will compete in the second semi-final on May 12 for a place in the grand final two days' later.
