Toby-Alexander Smith says that he felt "emotional" seeing Gray's storyline come to an end in EastEnders.

Toby-Alexander Smith has teased what to expect from his character Gray Atkins's impending exit from EastEnders.

This week on the soap, serial killer Gray's crimes are finally exposed as the residents of Walford become aware that he murdered both his wife Chantelle and Tina Carter.

The drama will come to a climax on Thursday night as police flood the square and Gray makes a desperate attempt to flee, but will he get away in time?

Talking about his three years on the show, Smith told Zoe Ball on Radio 2: "It is really.... we filmed some stuff the other day and I actually got quite emotional just talking out loud about this whole journey as Gray because it's been such a rollercoaster, to see it climax and to see it all come together it did actually affect me more than I thought it would."

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
