Matthew Morrison is to leave his role as Felix Baker on EastEnders after three years, it has emerged.

Arriving in the Square in July 2022 as the nephew of Mitch (Roger Griffiths), Felix made history as the show's first character with a drag queen alter-ego - Tara Misu.

Over time Felix's family have mostly left Walford, however, with his closest remaining relative Bernie (Clair Norris) all he has remaining, while he has had no storylines of note for some time.

A source told The Sun: "It's never an easy decision for bosses when they have to make the decision for a character to leave.

"Matthew has been great, but bosses felt the time was right to say goodbye to Felix."

A BBC spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Matthew will be leaving EastEnders later in the year. We wish him all the best for the future."

Felix is likely to depart Walford in early July to coincide with the expiration of Morrison's current contract.
