The BBC has confirmed that EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has been given "a clear warning" by producers following her arrest over the weekend.
The 50-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning outside a nightclub in Bury St Edmunds - and is alleged to have kneed a male police officer in the groin after calling him "a fat c**t".
Wallace was subsequently released from custody, having accepted a conditional caution, and was then hauled in by the senior team at EastEnders and asked to explain herself.
A BBC spokesman confirmed: "Senior bosses have spoken to Jessie Wallace about the incident and issued a clear warning that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable and Jessie has expressed her deep regret."
Wallace has played Kat Slater on and off on the soap for the last 22 years.
