Adam Woodyatt has reportedly entered talks about returning to EastEnders as Ian Beale.
The actor has been on the soap since it began in 1985 but he has been on a sabbatical since late 2020 in order to take part in a play, which was rescheduled several times due to coronavirus.
Now that the play is on the verge of coming to an end, The Sun says that Woodyatt has begun discussions about returning to Walford on a deal worth around £300,000 a year.
A source told the newspaper that producers are "hugely keen" to bring Ian back to the show as they prepare to deal with Danny Dyer's departure as Mick Carter.
The soonest Woodyatt could return on screen is late summer or early autumn.
