Millie Gibson has said that she would return to Doctor Who as Ruby Sunday without question if ever asked.
The former Coronation Street star appeared as The Doctor's (Ncuti Gatwa) companion throughout the first season but Ruby then decided to remain at home after discovering the identity of her birth mother.
In the current season, Ruby has returned for a handful of episodes - including the upcoming two-part finale to help The Doctor fight off a new threat from The Rani (Anita Dobson/Archie Panjabi), a storyline which is expected to wrap up Ruby's story.
Speaking to Radio Times about a future return, Gibson admitted: "Oh my gosh, if they ever wanted me back, I would be back.
"Even if it's me at 60 and I'm seeing the whole new generation of Doctor Who – that would be an honour.
"I think it's a show that'll stay with me throughout my career. It started my career, pretty much, and I'll forever be grateful for Ruby Sunday, and I feel very connected to her.
"So whenever they want me to be back, even if it's for a cough and a spit, just to nod to the next Doctor, I will be there with my hands up, for sure. But for now, wait for the finale!"
The first episode of the finale, 'Wish World', drops Saturday at 8am on iPlayer in the UK and simultaneously at 9am CST/3am ET/12am PT on Disney+ in the rest of the world.
