Graham Norton is confirmed for a cameo appearance in the Eurovision-themed episode of Doctor Who.

Graham Norton will make a cameo appearance in the new series of Doctor Who, it has been confirmed.

The presenter - UK voiceover man for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2009 - will guest star in the sixth episode of the new series, a Eurovision-style story called 'The Interstellar Song Contest'.

Previously-announced guest stars for the episode, which is due to air on the night of this year's Eurovision grand final, include Rylan Clark, Charlie Condou, Freddie Fox, Kadiff Kirwan and Miriam-Teak Lee.

Showrunner Russell T Davies said: "There's no song contest without the great man himself, and it was an honour to welcome Graham Norton to our studios in Cardiff. And it's not just a cameo, he has a whole plot twist all to himself!

"This is the wildest episode of all, and we're lucky to have Graham adding to the mayhem."

The episode is due for release on Saturday, May 17.
