Former Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou will appear in the next season of Doctor Who, it has emerged.
The 51-year-old starred on the cobbles as nurse Marcus Dent - the ex of Sean (Antony Cotton) and Maria (Samia Longchambon) - from 2007 to 2014, and has also had roles in Unforgotten, Holby City and Gimme Gimme Gimme.
The eight-episode second season of Doctor Who has already been filmed, wrapping up earlier this year, and is expected to be released in May 2025.
Little is known about Condou's role in the new season at present, although The Sun reports that he will play a character called 'Gary' and he will appear in one episode.
Also joining the cast in the next season are Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra - a new companion to The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) - and Jonah Hauer-King as a potentially-sinister character called Conrad.
