England hero Jack Grealish, who is said to be a huge fan of Coronation Street, is reportedly wanted for a cameo role on the soap.

England and Aston Villa footballer Jack Grealish reportedly has an open invite to make a cameo appearance on Coronation Street in the future.

The 25-year-old - one of the most popular figures at the Euros this summer - is said to be a huge fan of the world's longest-running soap and keeps up to date with plotlines despite his busy footballing schedule.

According to the Daily Star, Corrie producers are aware of his interest and would accommodate a special appearance if he were up for it.

"We have heard that Jack is a huge fan of the programme," a source told the newspaper. "He apparently likes to keep up to date with the plots and what's happening to the characters.

"Jack also follows a few of the cast on social media.

"Let's hope we can get him to pop into the Rovers one day.

"We're sure the residents of Weatherfield would love to have an England ace gracing the cobbles."

Grealish is currently enjoying a post-Euros holiday in Mykonos with Three Lions teammate Luke Shaw ahead of the new football season starting next month.
