Beverley Callard films Liz McDonald's final Coronation Street scenes

Beverley Callard reportedly films Liz McDonald's exit from Coronation Street in scenes that will be shown this autumn.

Beverley Callard has reportedly filmed her final scenes as Liz McDonald on Coronation Street.

The 63-year-old announced her intention to depart the cobbles last November and her character had been expected to make an on-screen exit last month, although the coronavirus pandemic has pushed her departure back by several months.

The nature of Liz's exit has yet to be revealed, although it comes at an unfortunate time, with her on-screen grandson Oliver just having been diagnosed with a terminal illness and the soap's milestone 60th anniversary a matter of months away.

"Liz's time on the cobbles is over," a source told The Sun. "She hasn't been killed off so there is always potential for a return but she is definitely done for now."

Callard has been a firm fixture on the cobbles since 1989, although she has taken three two-year breaks during that time.
