Amy Robbins will reprise her role as Christina Boyd on Coronation Street for a short stint this spring.
The character - tricksy mother of Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) - has appeared on and off in Weatherfield over the last two years, most recently last spring as Daisy and Jenny's (Sally Ann Matthews) deception over The Rovers was exposed.
Jordan announced earlier this month that she will be leaving Corrie in the coming months, and according to The Mirror, Robbins - aunt of Emily Atack - will be returning to help facilitate her exit storyline.
A source told the newspaper: "Christina's return certainly causes drama and she's going to be ruffling some feathers throughout her time on the cobbles. It's a brilliant storyline for Christina and Daisy in what will be some of Charlotte's final months on screen.
"It'll be sad to say Daisy leave the show, but we've got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then. The cast are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the show in what will no doubt be a big storyline for the pair."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7am on ITVX and at 8pm on ITV1.
