Des smashes down the door and finds Samantha in bed with Chris. In court, Jon paints Deirdre out as the mastermind behind the fraud.

Deirdre takes to the stand and defends herself fiercely, shouting at Jon when he laughs at her testimony. Jon's barrister then paints her out to be a manipulative maneater, before Emily takes her turn and sticks up for her friend.

Deirdre is horrified to be found guilty and sentenced to 18 months in prison. Chris leaves the street without Samantha.
