Prime Video bags rights to Australian swimming coverage

Amazon Prime Video secures the rights to global coverage of key Swimming Australia events in a two-year deal.

Amazon Prime Video has secured rights to global coverage of Swimming Australia's championship events in a two-year deal.

Under the contract, Prime Video will show events including this year's Australian Swimming Trials ahead of the Olympics and Paralympics, qualifiers for the 2022 FINA Swimming Championships and qualification for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

"We know live sport attracts passionate fan bases from around the world, many of whom are already Prime members," said Marie Donoghue, Prime Video's vp of global sports.

"We are focused on giving our customers access to the best selection of content possible, including the ability to watch live sport when and how they want to watch it.

"Streaming the upcoming Swimming Australia championship events on Prime Video is a great step toward achieving that global vision, and offers tremendous new value for Prime members in Australia and beyond."

The coverage will begin with the Australian Swimming Trials in Adelaide from June 12 to 17.
