Piers Morgan agrees News UK exit
Piers Morgan announces that he has left Rupert Murdoch's News UK after three years and is taking control of his Uncensored YouTube channel.

Piers Morgan has announced his exit from Rupert Murdoch's News UK as he takes ownership of his Uncensored YouTube channel and brand.

The former Good Morning Britain host rejoined the Murdoch empire in January 2022 on a three-year deal and was confirmed as the flagship presenter on the new TalkTV channel.

A year ago, however, Morgan moved his show to YouTube - and just months later, TalkTV was closed down as a linear TV channel.

Now Morgan has agreed a deal for him to take ownership of Uncensored, although News UK will retain a stake in the venture until 2029.

"I have had a great time working back at News and am delighted that we will continue to be partners," said Morgan. "Owning the brand allows my team and I the freedom to focus exclusively on building Uncensored into a stand-alone business, editorially and commercially, and in time, widening it from just me and my content."

He continued: "It's clear from the recent U.S. election that YouTube is an increasingly powerful and influential media platform, and Uncensored is one of the fastest-growing shows on it in the world. I'm very excited about the potential for Uncensored."

The channel currently has over 3.6 million subscribers, with its most successful video to date garnering over 23 million views.
