Forces TV to close on June 30
Forces TV announces that it will stop broadcasting in June 30 after losing its slot on Freeview.

Forces TV has announced that it will cease broadcasting on June 30.

The channel, operated by the charity BFBS, launched in 2014 and has a schedule comprising news updates about the British Forces and reruns of classic shows such as Doctor Who, The Brittas Empire and Blake's 7.

The impending closure has been brought about chiefly by the channel's loss of a Freeview slot from the end of the month due to one of the platform's multiplexes being decommissioned.

In a statement, BFBS said that it would continue to offer news about the forces through its website and YouTube channel.

The company also confirmed that BFBS TV, the service broadcast directly to British military around the globe, would continue unaffected.
