MTV wanted own Big Brother best-of show?

Channel 5 reportedly attempted to commission its own Big Brother retrospective series to air on MTV this summer.

MTV reportedly considered airing its own Big Brother retrospective series this summer after Channel 4 announced plans for Big Brother's Best Ever Shows.

The seminal reality series celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion, E4 will repeat 10 classic episodes starting on June 14.

Big Brother and spinoff Celebrity Big Brother originally aired on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010, before moving to Channel 5 in 2011 and running for a further seven years.

According to The Sun, Channel 5's owners Viacom attempted to put together a similar 'best-of' series to Channel 4, to air on E4, but the negotiations with production company proved too tricky and the idea was abandoned.

Big Brother's Best Shows Ever will be accompanied by new intros from original presenter Davina McCall and BOTS host Rylan Clark-Neal.
