Celebrity Big Brother star Marisha Wallace officially becomes a British citizen.

Marisha Wallace - competitor on last year's Celebrity Big Brother - has officially become a British citizen.

The 39-year-old performer was born in the US and began her career on Broadway but since 2017 she has been a firm fixture of the West End scene, appearing in shows such as Dreamgirls, Waitress and Hairspray.

Wallace recently decided to apply for British citizenship and was accepted today at an official ceremony at Bromley council.

According to the Daily Mail, she said: "I feel like I graduated and got married all on the same day.

"I feel really proud - when I got here eight years ago, I was embraced. Today was like the final adoption papers.

"I'm really proud to be British and I've always felt British. I sang the national anthem at the Royal Variety Show last year and getting the King Charles's seal of approval was so special.

"I've always wanted to be a leading lady and I didn't get that opportunity in America. In the UK, it was never even a doubt or question - I never had to second guess it.

"I've got to play roles I don't think I would be able to play on Broadway. All my dreams came true here, and I didn't even know it was where I was supposed to be."

Wallace, who was evicted fifth in her series of CBB, went on to celebrate at a party in Leicester Square attended by celeb friends including Billy Porter - her current co-star in Cabaret - former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and CBB housemate Zeze Millz.
