Andrew Neil confirms that his arrangement to remain with GB News as a regulator contributor has been cancelled.

Andrew Neil has revealed that he will "never again be on GBNews" following his public fallout with the channel's management.

The veteran broadcaster stepped down from his roles as chairman and primetime presenter last week, having only been on air for the channel's first two weeks in June before going on holiday.

Initially Neil was expected to continue as part of the GB News setup in a significantly-reduced capacity of "regular contributor" but that arrangement was torn up after just a few days.

During an appearance on Question Time last Thursday, Neil admitted that he had a different vision for the channel from the rest of the senior management - and a few days later, an article appeared in the Daily Mail alleging that the board had been preparing to "terminate" his employment before he resigned.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday night, Neil alleged that his exit deal had been 'unilaterally cancelled' by the broadcaster, adding: "Leaving me free to do, say whatever I want + never again be on GBNews. Couldn't be happier."

Meanwhile, Neil had some words of praise for Colin Brazier, who has since taken over his programme's slot, writing: "Colin is a brilliant broadcaster with a great command of the language and a very sharp mind."
