Phil Mustard wants Durham return

Lancashire's loanee wicketkeeper Phil Mustard is hoping to regain his place in the Durham team next season.

Phil Mustard has conceded that he would like to return to Durham once his loan stint with Lancashire is over.

The wicketkeeper signed on at Old Trafford as cover for Alex Davies, who has been ruled out of action for the time being through injury.

However, despite the fact that he has lost his place in Durham's four-day side over the last couple of seasons, 32-year-old Mustard has stated that his intention is to force his way back into the team at the Riverside Ground.

"Next season's a long way away. I'm still under contract at Durham, and I'd like to get back in there. But it's too early to say how it's going to pan out," he told Lancashire's official website.

Mustard is contracted to Durham until the end of the 2016 campaign.
