England cruise to warm-up victory

England cruise to an innings victory in their opening tour match in Sri Lanka.

England's bowlers were in impressive form as they led their side to an innings and 15-run victory over a Sri Lankan Board XI in their opening tour match.

Steven Finn, James Anderson and Graeme Swann each took three second-innings wickets as England bowled out their opponents for 119 on the third afternoon in Colombo.

With Alastair Cook unbeaten on 163 overnight, England declared before the start of play on 303-8, a lead of 134 runs.

That proved to be enough as seamer Anderson took figures of 3-21 to add to his four-wicket haul from the first innings.

Monty Panesar also got in on the act by taking the ninth Sri Lankan wicket to record match figures of 6-69.

England's second-tour match against a Sri Lankan Development XI begins on Tuesday.
