Tymal Mills expecting Cardiff draw

Sussex bowler Tymal Mills tips the first Ashes Test in Cardiff to finish in a draw.

Tymal Mills has backed the first Ashes Test between England and Australia in Cardiff, which begins tomorrow, to end in a draw.

The touring Aussies are regarded as the favourites to win the series, but the home side, with new coach Trevor Bayliss at the helm, have been tipped by many to push their rivals close.

With that in mind, Sussex bowler Mills has claimed that there is likely to be very little to separate the two sides at the SWALEC Stadium.

"First test in Cardiff? I reckon it might be a draw – two teams just getting a feel for each other. The coach is new and you don't want to lose your first Test in charge," the 22-year-old wrote on Twitter.

"Hopefully it'll be an exciting series. I think it'll be close either way."

The last time that the teams met in the Welsh capital - back in 2009 - the match was drawn thanks to the batting exploits of England bowlers James Anderson and Monty Panesar.
