Klay Thompson: 'Los Angeles Clippers couldn't handle their business'

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson criticises the Los Angeles Clippers' performance in the NBA playoffs last season.

Klay Thompson has criticised Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers over comments he made this week.

Rivers claimed that the Golden State Warriors were lucky to win the NBA championship last season by avoiding San Antonio Spurs and the Clippers in the playoffs.

"That sounds pretty bitter to me," Thompson told reporters. "If we got lucky, look at our record against them last year. I'm pretty sure we smacked them.

"Didn't they lose to the Rockets? So that just makes me laugh. That's funny. Weren't they up 3-1, too? Tell them I said that, too.

"I wanted to play the Clippers last year, but they couldn't handle their business."

Golden State clinched the NBA title by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 in the finals.
