Devin McCourty: 'I want to play at safety, but will listen to coaches'

New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty says that he wants to remain at safety next season despite talk of a potential switch to cornerback.

New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty has suggested that he would prefer to remain in his current position next season instead of potentially reverting to help out at cornerback.

The Patriots have seen the departures of four cornerbacks candidates recently, including Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, with some sections of the press now suggesting that New England could look to move McCourty over to take up a CB position.

"It's up to the coaches. I want to play safety, but it's out of my control. Whatever the coaches decide, is what it'll have to be," said McCourty, according to the Boston Herald.

The Patriots are the current holders of the Super Bowl XLIX after they defeated the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year.
