Judge Richard Berman advises NFL, NFLPA to settle Tom Brady case

Judge Richard Berman tells the NFL and the NFL Players Association to engage in settlement talks regarding Tom Brady's case ahead of their meeting in court.

Judge Richard Berman has advised the NFL and the NFL Players Association to participate in settlement talks regarding Tom Brady's suspension case before their court date on Wednesday.

The New England Patriots quarterback advised the NFLPA to take his appeal against his four-game ban by the league for the deflategate scandal to court after commissioner Roger Goodell upheld his suspension.

However, Berman has insisted that the two parties should settle the argument away from court in order to keep the matter out of the legal system.

"In anticipation of tomorrow's conference, counsel and the parties are requested to engage in further good faith settlement efforts today," Berman wrote in court documents.

"I will meet briefly with counsel and the parties tomorrow morning at 10:30am EST for an update on your discussions."

Goodell revealed last week that he had no intention of reducing Brady's suspension.
