Maurice Jones-Drew ready to leave Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew says that he is prepared to move on if the franchise decide they no longer want him.

Maurice Jones-Drew has admitted that he may be forced to leave the Jacksonville Jaguars during the off-season, despite a claim that he would be happy to stay with the franchise for the remainder of his career.

Running back Jones-Drew has been with the Jaguars since being selected by them in the 2006 NFL Draft, and the 28-year-old's comments suggest that he is unsure whether he will remain with the franchise.

According to NFL.com, Jones-Drew told reporters: "I don't really know what the percentage is (that I will return). Obviously, I would love to end my career there but that's not necessarily up to me anymore.

"What I can control is how I work this off-season getting back ready. We'll see how it plays from here. All this uncertainty, it's kind of exciting to see what opportunity and doors open. We'll see when that time comes.

"Jacksonville is where I started, so I always want to finish there. I don't know if they feel the same way I do. I've enjoyed my career there up to this point. If I'm able to finish, that'd be awesome. If not, there will be another opportunity somewhere else and be able to get somewhere to play and enjoy that experience there."

The 2013 season was statistically the worst of Jones-Drew's pro football career when he has been fully fit, with the back rushing for just 803 yards and five touchdowns and just a single three figure performance to his name.
