Manchester United prepare to reignite their interest in Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to reignite their interest in Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with the 28-year-old during the January market, but the club were ultimately not able to spend in the winter window due to financial restrictions.

The 20-time English champions will sign a new forward ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, with the position viewed as a priority this summer due to the lack of options in that area of the field.

According to Bild, Man United remain keen on Guirassy, and it is understood that the release clause which was widely mentioned earlier this year is still present, with the fee thought to be around £17m.

West Ham United are also said to be keeping a close eye on the situation, as the Guinea international has been in impressive form for Stuttgart during the 2023-24 campaign.

Guirassy 'remains on Man United's radar'

Guirassy has scored 27 times and registered two assists in 25 appearances for his German club this season, including 25 goals in 23 Bundesliga outings.

The forward spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Stuttgart from Rennes, netting 14 times, before completing a permanent switch to the club last summer.

Guirassy has netted in each of his last six Bundesliga appearances, while he has only failed to score in two league fixtures since returning from international duty in February.

Stuttgart have the striker on a contract until June 2026, but the alleged presence of a release clause will make it incredibly difficult for the German club to keep hold of him in the upcoming market.

What other strikers are being linked with Man United?

Ivan Toney has seemingly emerged as an interesting option for Man United, with the England international widely expected to leave Brentford during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils have allegedly moved ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for his signature, and there have been suggestions that his price tag has dropped to around £40m.

Man United are said to be keen to bring in a forward who will support Rasmus Hojlund rather than take his position in the side, with the Denmark international showing plenty of promising signs this season.

A dream move for Bayern Munich's Harry Kane is almost certainly out of the question, but Lille's Jonathan David is another interesting option, while Victor Boniface's excellent form for Bayer Leverkusen could lead to him being looked at.

Man United will also need a couple of defenders this summer and at least one central midfielder, though, so it remains to be seen how much money is available for a new striker, especially as the club are likely to miss out on securing Champions League football for next season.
