Coronation Street announces double casting for
Stephanie Davis and Ryan Early join the cast of Coronation Street for a new storyline involving the Alahans.

Former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis and The Archers regular Ryan Early have joined the cast of Coronation Street for a new storyline involving the Alahans.

The pair will play husband-and-wife duo Darren and Courtney Vance, who arrive on the street for Darren to set up a business deal with Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin).

Glamorous Courtney, meanwhile, decides that she wants a toyboy lover and sets her sights on Dev's 17-year-old son Aadi (Adam Hussain).

"In Stephanie and Ryan, we have cast two fantastic actors as the catalyst for this fun, fiery storyline," said Corrie producer Iain MacLeod. "Aadi will quickly find himself way out of his depth as he risks everything for Courtney. And while it is the best time he's ever had in his life, he stands to end up in a whole heap of trouble!"

Davis, who starred as Sinead O'Connor in the Channel 4 soap, said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing the part of Courtney Vance.

"Growing up I have always watched and loved the show, so to be part of the biggest TV soap in Britain, which is in the hearts and homes of so many people, is an honour."

Early, meanwhile, added: "I am so thrilled to be playing Darren Vance on Coronation Street and joining the most iconic soap. I grew up watching the show with my grandmother so to walk on the cobbles is such an honour."

The pair begin filming their roles this week and will be seen on screen for the first time in July.
